Al-Burhan Centre in Baghdad hosted a gathering of the Iraq Britain Business Council (IBBC), at the invitation of Baroness Emma Nicholson, President of the Iraq Britain Business Council. The event brought together a distinguished group of Iraqi and British figures, as well as representatives from the business, education and security sectors.

The gathering was organised to strengthen communication and build relationships between Iraqi and British individuals and institutions, while providing a platform for dialogue and the exchange of perspectives, contributing to stronger cooperation and partnership between the two sides.

The event was attended by Baroness Emma Nicholson of Winterbourne, President of the Iraq Britain Business Council and host of the event; Mr. Imad Burhan, Managing Director of Al-Burhan Group, Mr. Hoshyar Zebari, former Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Christophe Michels of the Iraq Britain Business Council; John Wilks CMG, a member of the IBBC; and Brigadier James Ellery CBE of TurnKey LLC.

Also in attendance were Lieutenant General Saad Maan, Head of the Security Media Cell at the Iraqi Joint Operations Command; Mr.Saad Al-Khafaji of Al-Burhan Group; Mr. Raed Mahmoud of The International School of Choueifat – SABIS; Mr. Ghassan Karim Mujdhab, Deputy Dean of the College of Science at Mustansiriyah University; Dr. Sarab Khalil of Management Partners; Mr. Mohammed Al Asaadi of Sama Hammurabi Law Firm; and Mr. Salim Jaffar of Al Majal.

The event also welcomed a wider group of distinguished guests from various sectors, including representatives of the British and American Embassies in Baghdad, alongside business leaders, academics, and representatives of government and private-sector institutions. The diversity of attendees reflected the importance of the occasion in strengthening communication and cooperation between Iraq, the United Kingdom and the wider international community.

The gathering provided an opportunity for attendees to exchange views on areas of mutual interest, strengthen professional relationships and explore opportunities for further cooperation and future engagement.

Hosting the event at Al-Burhan Centre also highlighted the Centre’s role as a venue for professional and international events in Baghdad, offering an integrated environment for conferences, hospitality, official meetings and professional engagement.
