On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, Judge Dr. Faiq Zidan, President of Iraq's Supreme Judicial Council, paid an official visit to the British House of Lords, where he met with Baroness Emma Nicholson and a number of Lords specializing in legal affairs.

During the visit, His Excellency toured the corridors of the House and became acquainted with its operational mechanisms. He also provided a detailed explanation of the nature of the Iraqi judiciary's work, emphasizing its full independence as guaranteed by the Constitution, and its vital role in upholding the rule of law in the country.

The meeting was attended by a distinguished group of prominent Iraqi businessmen residing in the United Kingdom, including Mr. Imad Al-Burhan, CEO of Al-Burhan Group, as well as several members of the Iraq-Britain Business Council.

The meeting also included important discussions concerning the Iraqi community in the UK. The participants emphasized the importance of developing Iraqi legislation to support the investment environment and to create favourable conditions for attracting capital, thereby contributing to job creation and advancing economic growth and prosperity.
