Iraq has a large network of power stations however years of disuse and neglect has left them in desperate need of rehabilitation work. Two notable examples are the Al-Hartha and Al-Youssifiyah gas turbine power stations which were the subject of the meeting. The two stations constructed decades ago will require serious and long-term investment in order to bring them back to full operation. An inspection team from TPE arrived in Baghdad shortly afterwards in order to carry out their assessments of the current status of the stations.

ABG with a long history of experience in the power sector is representing TPE in its Iraqi operations. TPE is one of the world's principal companies in the field of construction of power projects and production of electricity. With Al-Burhan Group's highly qualified engineers and TPE’s practical experience, the two companies will work together to rehabilitate Al-Hartha and Al-Youssifiyah stations in order to restore electricity to Iraq's cities and industrial areas.

Officials at the power stations are under clear instructions to do everything in their authority to assist TPE in their rehabilitation work. The meeting with the Prime Minister has given ABG and TPE a clear mandate to develop Iraq’s electricity sector as quickly as possible for the benefit of the Iraqi people. It is hoped that with this high level intervention; Iraq will soon have full electricity converge throughout its towns and cities in order to build a prosperous future.
