Al-Burhan Group has been a long-term sponsor and supporter of AMAR’s activities worldwide. On the 19th November, the management of Al-Burhan Group joined international dignitaries at AMAR’s annual fundraising dinner at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel in Knightsbridge, London.

The dinner evening themed '1001 Arabian Nights' is an event designed to raise awareness of the charity’s vital operations and ensure its continued operation. This was followed with a speech by Ms. Thoraya Obaid, Executive Director of United Nations Population Fund who stressed the importance of such events in maintaining global support for those in need.

Since 1991, AMAR has made available professional health and education on a sustained, long-term basis and today brings over 100,000 medical consultations annually via an association of over 40 health centres in Iraq and Lebanon, for the direct benefit of over 500,000 men, women and children.

In addition to health care, countless families and individuals make use of AMAR’s programmes in education. AMAR supports primary and secondary schools with courses in health education, democracy and human rights which form a part of its guiding mission statement. AMAR is committed not to just provide short-term aid; but giving real, practice contributions to better people’s live through information and action.

The dinner evening was concluded with a live auction conducted by Mr George Gordon of Sotheby's Auctions as well as a roulette draw. In attendance were a wide array of international companies and organisations showing their commitment to the cause. The dinner was a magnificent evening for all guests and helped AMAR maintain its important activities for many years to come.
