ABG/Serco Sign One Year Contract Extension with Iraqi CAA for ATC Services & Training
Al-Burhan Group and its partner Serco have been awarded a one year contract extension to provide air traffic control services and training at Baghdad International Airport (BIAP) by the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority. The contract underlines Iraq’s keen interest to modernise the management of its ATC services by contracting with one of the leading international companies on this field.

The contract would involve the provision of a range of services including continued development of air Traffic Services and Academy training at BIAP and ensuring compliance with standards of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
The Contract is extension to the existent contact which started in January 2011. The shared work has proved successful with the increase of Iraq’s airspace capacity, successful training and validation of nationals to become air traffic controllers and developing a solid foundation for advancing air traffic services capabilities in Iraq.
The signing of the contract extension reflects ABG sincere desires to consolidate the management of Iraq’s air space in accordance with international standards and encourage the country to compete regionally and globally.
